Holiday! Celebrate! Party Dress!

Free People party dress
  Alice & Olivia party dress
Club Monaco party dress
ASOS party dress
Nanette Lepore Dress
J. Crew party dress

The holidays are upon us, ahhhhh! This time of year chronically sneaks up on me and since I'm the Godmother of procrastination, I'm never prepared. If nothing else, this year, I will be prepared for a party thanks to the above roster of fun dresses. The texture and sequins definitely define the holiday factor this season; and who doesn't want to be wrapped up in a bow like a present at a Christmas Party?  The Free People dress is my favorite; it's flirty, fun, festive and the night blue looks amazing. What is your go to holiday party look- are you an ugly sweater type?

What are your plans for this holiday season? For Thanksgiving I'll be hanging out in NYC checking out holiday window displays on 5th Ave and the tree at Rockefeller Center. Christmas and New Year's will be spent in the San Diego sun, I can't wait!

Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

The Maison Martin Margiela (MMM) collaboration with H&M hits stores November 15th- this is one of H&M most surprising and anticipated partnerships. If you were anywhere near a social networking app the night of the launch party here in NYC you would have seen how big of a deal it was- your favorite bloggers, fashion gurus, celebs, and media were all in attendance for yet another excuse to party.

The collection is a re-edition of iconic MMM pieces over the past 23 years- each item will have a tag to indicate which season it originated from. The collection will embody all of MMM hallmarks including classic oversized silhouettes and deconstructed styling. The H&M release states that the collection will include 104 pieces from footwear to accessories and even menswear! Edgy minimalists who enjoy oversized garments and a bit of ambiguity will love this line.

I'm loving this collection, all items will be at a H&M price point and hopefully I will be able to get my hands on those invisible wedge pumps! Do you enjoy H&M's collaborations with high end names? This isn't their first and based on the interest it won't be there last. Anyone remember H&M X Lanvin?

Oh, Sandy

As a New Yorker it's hard to imagine the city with no public transportation, no bridges, and even without power. As New Yorkers we're a bit cocky and sometimes even too cool for something like this to happen, that's what you're taught as a citizen of this amazing city. As I sat glued to the TV, Twitter and Instagram I watched in horror from Austin, TX where I had been grounded due to Sandy. I had been blessed to have missed the Super Storm and instead bonded with great friends while my fellow East Coasters braved the storm. As I landed at Laguardia yesterday the city looked like a ghost town-even from an altitude of 30,000 ft.

As donations of food, water, clothes, and even blood pour into local shelters and agencies I wanted to include a link to the American Red Cross website where there are an onslaught of options to donate whatever you can to help my fellow New Yorkers. If you wish, you could simply text REDCROSS to 90999 and donate directly from your smartphone. If by some weird chance you are a disaster survivor and are on this blog looking for information, have no wifi and need to apply for FEMA assistance click here.

One thing that Sandy has reiterated for me is...
