Travel Chronicles- YEEHAW!

Hey y'all! I'm off to Austin, TX for all sorts of exciting festivities this week. I'm looking forward to seeing friends and exploring the Lone Star State with them. This will be my first time there- I'd love to hear any suggestions you may have of fun places to check out. I will be sure to have a full photo report upon my return & maybe even some souvenirs! My vintage cowgirl boots are already packed. :) Enjoy your weekend!

P.S. If you haven't already noticed, I haven't been posting much lately- between my graduate school applications, essays and work I haven't had much time. But I see light at the end of the tunnel and promise once I reach it, I will be back in the blogosphere- full swing!

HAPPY MONDAY: My Halloween-esque Picks

Happy Monday, I trust you all had a weekend packed with awesomeness! I wanted to bring you some Halloween-themed fun fashion picks this week. I'm loving the humorous shirts from Urban Outfitters-  I too find it hilarious that Halloween has just become an excuse for women to dress up like prostitutes and consider it a costume (see #5). I'm not judging. :) Hope you enjoy it all!

Hello! I hope all of you are enjoying your long weekend courtesy of everyone's favorite faux explorer-Columbus. Here are some fun/interesting/cool finds I wanted to share with you from this week.

I was a bit alarmed when I heard of Starbucks' pumpkin spiced lattè shortage but no worries I have found an exceptional alternative that involves coffee + Bailey's + vanilla vodka. :)

These cheeky beauties came out this week and we'd like to send a huge kudos to one of our blogger heroes-The Man Repeller for creating these fun shoes with Del Toro.

This week was great for music! Solange released a great little number called "Losing You". Miguel released "Kaleidoscope Dream" (loving that title) and Flying Lotus also released "Until The Quiet Comes" they're both much anticipated albums and you will not be disappointed! I sure wasn't.

Our friends at Refinery29 raised a great question about these Celine Trompe l'Oeil "Pedicure" shoes, why do they only come in one shade-pale? Sadly, these shoes speak volumes as to the homogeny on the typical runway.  I don't get into this kind of stuff on my blog much, but it's important to note the lack of representation of people of color in high fashion- it's a problem. As I struggle to find women of all shades even on Pinterest!

Moving on to one of my favorite days...Halloween is quickly approaching and I have found a few DIY badass ombre & fanged pumpkins for you to try at home! (Let me know how they come out if you give them a try.)

Lastly...gents or ladies looking to butter up the bf- Cole Hann X Nike have released a limited edition LunarGrand Wingtip shoe that are waterproof (great for winter)! Sadly, they're only available in Asia, Cole Haan L.A. and SOHO but they are gorgeous.
